About me

‍

I never stop asking why.

Why does technology drive people instead of the other way around? How can we use technology for a better life? Why do inclusiveness and ethics disappear as soon as the doors of the boardrooms close?

I plead for ethics in tech, sustainable business and more diversity in tech.

You can find me on the panel of the podcast Tech45, with the event The Ada Talks, in several boards of directors, and in the government’s advisory group for technology education.

I am all in, for as long as it takes.

Experiencing first hand what it's like to be a woman in Tech, I dedicated myself to change the current male dominated field of STEM.

I actively create awareness and educates people on the importance of diversity in STEM and how to change this pattern.

I am a role model for other girls and woman and is committed to many different projects to support this cause.

Short Bio

Dewi Van De Vyver (42) is from Bornem, holds a Master in Communication at the University of Antwerp. She also took a management course at the Vlerick School of Business. She went to work at the chancellery of Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt and led the Jong-VLD National. Afterwards, she worked at Ghent University, still later as communications and project manager at Fortis Venturing and Niscayah, among others. In 2011, she co-founded Flow Pilots, becoming its CEO in 2018. In September 2022, she stepped down. She is now co-founder of EFFEX, a platform for Design of Experiments.

She lives in Sint-Amands and has two children.

Long Bio

Dewi was at the cradle of Flow Pilots, 12 years ago and was CEO of the company from 2018-2022. Flow Pilots supervised digital innovation projects and carried them out from A to Z. The company used smart digital technologies with the main goal of making the life of the end-user easier and more pleasant. Dewi always handles from a people-first mentality as opposed to a technology-first approach, which is mainly used. The company was acquired in 2022 by ACA IT solutions making space for new adventures.

Today she is the CEO of EFFEX a platform for Design of Experiments.

She complemented her Master’s in Communication Science at the UA with courses in economics, graphic design and IT management. The intersection of these areas of expertise inspire her as CEO. Dewi is part of the panel of the technology podcast Tech45. She is also the mother of two sons, who inspire

her every day to use her profession for the greater good.

Dewi is one of the female strongholds in the sector, aiming to create a more diverse and inclusive IT-sector and working world. She advocates to get more women interested in technology, and AI in particular. Without diversity in data, crucial factors will be lacking. Additionally the majority of the future jobs will involve technological aspects, women need the required technical schooling to be able to fill in these positions. As one of the co-founders of the networking event ‘The Ada Talks’ Dewi offers support to women in tech advisory groups for technology education.
